# What to do when a WhatsApp number is banned Source: https://wassuply.com/docs/ban-recovery/ Updated: 2026-10-30 · Wassuply 1.0.5 for Windows and macOS > When WhatsApp bans a number, Wassuply marks it Banned, alerts you and stops sending from it in campaigns, follow-ups and warm-up. The Ban Recovery screen then helps you write an appeal: pick one of 10 ban reasons and one of 5 tones, and Wassuply fills your number into one of 50 ready-made letters. You submit the appeal yourself from WhatsApp on your phone. In the app: Sidebar → Warmup → Ban Recovery ## Key facts - Wassuply's Ban Recovery screen holds 50 appeal templates: 10 ban reasons, each written in 5 styles (Professional, Heartfelt, Detailed, Brief and Urgent). - Wassuply marks a number Banned when its WhatsApp Web view shows WhatsApp's ban screen, checking every loaded number every 15 seconds. - When a number turns Banned, Wassuply shows an in-app alert that stays until you close it and, if notifications are on, a desktop notification. - Wassuply never moves a banned number's sequence follow-ups to another number; they pause and resume only if that number reconnects. - Wassuply removes a banned number from its Warm-up Network pod straight away. - Wassuply does not send appeals for you: you paste the appeal into WhatsApp's review request on your phone. ## What does Wassuply do when a number is banned? Wassuply marks the number Banned, alerts you, and stops using it to send, while your other numbers carry on. It reads the ban from WhatsApp Web's own screen, so it can only spot numbers whose session is loaded. - **Status:** every loaded number is checked every 15 seconds. If WhatsApp Web shows the ban screen, the status changes to Banned and the sidebar shows a red blocked icon. - **Alerts:** an in-app message says the number may be banned and to check now. It stays until you close it. A desktop notification follows if notifications are on in Settings. - **Campaigns:** only Connected numbers send, so the campaign carries on with its other numbers. If none can send, it holds and logs the reason. - **Sequences:** follow-ups due from the banned number pause. They are never moved to another number, and resume only if it reconnects. - **Warm-up:** in a local session the banned number stops sending and its partner takes the turn. In the [Warm-up Network](https://wassuply.com/docs/warmup-network/), the number is removed from its pod at once. - **Health & Risk:** the readiness label becomes Banned, the risk score goes to 100, and the advice suggests replacing the number. See [Health & Risk](https://wassuply.com/docs/health-and-risk/). Wassuply does not delete the number, contact WhatsApp or appeal for you. A campaign whose only numbers are banned keeps holding, so pause or stop it yourself. ## How do you confirm the ban? Open the number in Wassuply and read what WhatsApp Web shows, then check WhatsApp on the phone itself. Wassuply flags a ban from wording on that screen, such as "banned from using WhatsApp" or "violating WhatsApp". Wassuply only recognises the ban screen. A temporary restriction or a warning is not read as a ban, although the failed sends it causes raise the number's risk score. If the number shows Banned but WhatsApp works normally on the phone, open it in Wassuply: when WhatsApp Web loads the chat list again, the next check sets it back to Connected. On the phone, look for a review option on the ban screen. Wassuply's own guide on the website notes that WhatsApp treats a ban without a review option as final. ## How do you write an appeal with Ban Recovery? Pick the banned number, the reason and a style, and Ban Recovery shows a finished appeal letter with your number filled in, ready to copy. **How to write a WhatsApp ban appeal in Wassuply** 1. **Open Ban Recovery**: Click **Ban Recovery** under **Warmup** in the sidebar. The screen is titled WhatsApp Ban Appeal Templates. 2. **Enter the banned number**: Under **Your Banned Number**, click one of your numbers in **Quick select from accounts** (the first four with a phone number saved), or type it under **Or enter manually**. 3. **Choose the reason**: Open **Reason for Ban** and pick the situation that is true for you. 4. **Choose a style**: Under **Template Style**, pick **Professional**, **Heartfelt**, **Detailed**, **Brief** or **Urgent**. Use **Switch style** to compare them. 5. **Copy the appeal**: Click **Copy Appeal**. If you skipped the number, the letter shows a placeholder where it goes. The 10 reasons are: I only used it for family & friends; Legitimate business / customer support; I was using a third-party / modified app; I was falsely reported by someone; I was sending messages to many contacts; My account was hacked / compromised; I was active in many groups; I was sharing a lot of media / links; I don't know why I was banned; and I was using automation / marketing tools. > **Caution:** Only send what is true. Several templates say specific things, for example that you have uninstalled a tool, turned on two-step verification or that every contact opted in. The letter cannot be edited on the screen, so paste it first and remove anything that does not apply before you submit. > **Tip:** The same appeal tool is also in the [customer portal](https://wassuply.com/docs/customer-portal/). ## How do you submit the appeal in WhatsApp? You submit the appeal from WhatsApp on the phone with the banned number; Wassuply cannot send it for you. **How to submit a WhatsApp ban appeal** 1. **Open WhatsApp on the phone**: The banned number shows WhatsApp's ban screen. 2. **Tap the review button**: Ban Recovery calls it **Request a Review**; it sits at the bottom of the ban screen. 3. **Paste and check the appeal**: Paste the letter into the message field, check the number is correct and edit out anything untrue. 4. **Submit and wait**: WhatsApp may reply by email. Ban Recovery suggests allowing 24 to 72 hours. The screen also links to WhatsApp's contact page. Send one appeal per number and keep the banned number out of all sending until WhatsApp replies. ## What should you do next? Stop every job on the number, record the ban in its Health & Risk profile, then either wait for the review or replace the number. - **Stop its jobs:** pause or stop campaigns that use the number. Wassuply will not remove a number while a campaign is sending from it. - **If WhatsApp lifts the ban:** open the number in Wassuply. If a QR code appears, link it again from your phone. Once it is Connected, paused follow-ups resume. - **Record the ban:** on Health & Risk, click **Edit account profile** and answer the ban question. A restriction or ban cuts the safe daily limit by 30 to 60 percent and adds 15 to 45 days to the warm-up plan. - **Warm it up again:** run [warm-up](https://wassuply.com/docs/warmup/) before any campaign and keep it under its new safe limit. - **If the ban is final:** remove the number with **Remove Account**, add a replacement and warm it for at least 15 days, ideally 30. - **Fix the cause:** check daily caps, gaps, list quality and opt-outs in [Sending safety](https://wassuply.com/docs/sending-safety/), and consider switching on Smart Send Protection. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can Wassuply unban my WhatsApp number? No. Only WhatsApp can lift a ban. Wassuply helps you write the appeal and keeps the number out of sending meanwhile. ### Does Wassuply submit the appeal automatically? No. Ban Recovery copies the letter for you, and you paste it into WhatsApp's review request on the banned phone. ### Will a banned number disappear from my account list? No. It stays, labelled Banned, until you remove it yourself with Remove Account. ### Why is my number marked Banned when WhatsApp works on my phone? The status comes from what WhatsApp Web shows in Wassuply. Open the number: if WhatsApp Web loads your chats, the next 15-second check marks it Connected again. ### Does a ban on one number affect my other numbers in Wassuply? Wassuply does not stop your other numbers. Each runs in its own session with its own fingerprint and optional proxy, which lowers the chance of them being linked, but no setup can rule that out. ### How long does a WhatsApp review take? WhatsApp decides the timing. Ban Recovery suggests allowing 24 to 72 hours, and WhatsApp may reply by email. ### Which appeal style should I pick? Brief suits a simple case and Detailed suits a case that needs context. Whichever you choose, keep it honest and specific to what happened. Wassuply is independent software. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.
