# How to get started with Wassuply Source: https://wassuply.com/docs/getting-started/ Updated: 2026-10-30 · Wassuply 1.0.4 for Windows and macOS > To get started with Wassuply, create a free account at wassuply.com/signup, confirm your email, then download the Windows or Mac app from the Download page of your customer portal. Install it, sign in with the same email and password, activate a plan, link your first WhatsApp number by QR code and warm it up for at least 15 days before any campaign. ## Key facts - The Wassuply account and the download are free; until a plan is active, the desktop app opens on a No active plan screen where you can buy a plan or redeem an activation code. - The Wassuply sign-up at wassuply.com/signup asks four things: your WhatsApp number with country code, your email, your name and a password of at least 8 characters. - Wassuply 1.0.4 runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and on macOS 12 Monterey or later, with separate Mac downloads for Apple Silicon and Intel. - Wassuply has no licence key: signing in to the desktop app with your account email links that computer to your plan, and a newly activated plan reaches the app within about a minute. - A Wassuply warm-up session on your own numbers needs at least 2 connected numbers and, by default, sends up to 20 messages per number per day, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 21:00. - Wassuply's Health & Risk screen requires at least 15 warm-up days before a new number shows as Ready; 30 days is recommended. ## What do you need before you start? You need a supported computer, a WhatsApp number that is active on a phone, and an email address you can open. Setup takes about five minutes; the warm-up that follows takes weeks. - **A computer:** Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), or macOS 12 Monterey or later on Apple Silicon or Intel. There is no Linux or mobile app. - **A WhatsApp number on a phone:** normal WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business, linked by QR code like WhatsApp Web. - **An email address:** your login for both the website and the desktop app. - **An active plan:** the app stays on a No active plan screen until you have one. See [pricing](https://wassuply.com/pricing/). - **Optional:** residential or 4G proxies if you will run many numbers. See [Proxies](https://wassuply.com/docs/proxies/). ## How do you set up Wassuply, start to finish? You set up Wassuply in eight steps, in the same order as the Get started checklist in your customer portal. Each step is explained in more detail further down this page. **How to set up Wassuply and start your first warm-up** 1. **Create your free account**: Go to [wassuply.com/signup](https://wassuply.com/signup/) and answer four questions: WhatsApp number, email, name and a password of at least 8 characters. Click **Create account**. 2. **Confirm your email**: Click the link Wassuply emails you. It signs you in to your customer portal and opens the **Get started** tab. 3. **Download the app**: Open **Download** in the portal, choose **Mac** or **Windows**, then click **Download for Windows** or the DMG that matches your Mac (Apple Silicon or Intel). 4. **Install Wassuply**: On Windows, run the setup file; if Windows shows **Windows protected your PC**, click **More info → Run anyway**. On a Mac, open the DMG, drag Wassuply into Applications, then run the one-line Terminal command from the Download page (or use **System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway**) before the first launch. 5. **Sign in with the same email**: Open the app and use the email and password from step 1, then click **Log in**. 6. **Activate your plan**: Buy a plan or redeem a gift or activation code. The app unlocks as soon as the plan is active. 7. **Link your first WhatsApp number**: Click **Add Account**, give the number a label, click **Connect Account** and scan the QR code from your phone under **Linked devices**. 8. **Start a warm-up**: Create a warm-up session (or join a Warm-up Pod) and let it run for at least 15 days before your first campaign. ## How does the free sign-up work? The free sign-up at [wassuply.com/signup](https://wassuply.com/signup/) creates your Wassuply account in four short steps, then asks you to confirm your email. Your WhatsApp number must include the country code, for example +44 7700 900123; a number starting with a local 0 is rejected. Your name can be 2 to 80 characters and your password needs at least 8. After **Create account**, check your inbox for the confirmation link. If the email already belongs to an account, the page says **You already have an account** and sends you to log in instead. > **Tip:** Confirmation emails can only be sent once every 60 seconds per address. The **send it again** link counts down before it works again, and clicking Create account twice does not send a second email. If nothing arrives after a few minutes, check your spam folder. When the link opens your portal, the **Get started** tab shows four steps with a progress bar: **Download Wassuply**, **Install it and sign in**, **Activate your plan** and **Connect your first WhatsApp number**. The steps tick themselves as Wassuply sees each one happen. You can leave the list with **Skip for now** and come back to it from the sidebar at any time. More in [Customer portal](https://wassuply.com/docs/customer-portal/). ## How do you install Wassuply on Windows or Mac? Download the installer for your computer from the portal's **Download** page, run it, and open Wassuply. Only install Wassuply from the download buttons inside your own account. ### Windows 10 and 11 Open the downloaded setup file. You can keep the default folder or choose your own; the installer adds a desktop shortcut and opens Wassuply when it finishes. If Windows shows **Windows protected your PC**, click **More info**, check the app name, then **Run anyway**. After that, Windows copies update themselves: Wassuply checks about 15 seconds after it opens and every 4 hours, downloads updates in the background, and shows a bar with **Restart Now** when one is ready. ### macOS 12 or later Pick **Apple Silicon (M1 and later)** or **Intel Mac**. Not sure which? Open the Apple menu → **About This Mac**: "Chip Apple M..." means Apple Silicon, "Processor ... Intel" means Intel. Open the DMG and drag Wassuply into Applications. Opened from anywhere else, it offers **Move to Applications**; accept it. > **Caution:** The Mac app is not yet notarised by Apple, so macOS blocks the first launch. The quickest fix is the one the Download page shows: open Terminal, paste `xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Wassuply.app` and press Return, then open Wassuply. Without Terminal, open Wassuply once, click **Done**, then go to **System Settings → Privacy & Security** (on macOS 12, **System Preferences → Security & Privacy**) and click **Open Anyway**. Mac updates are manual: Wassuply tells you when a new version is out and links the download, which you drag into Applications. Your accounts and data are kept. ## How do you sign in and activate your plan? Sign in on the **Welcome back** screen with the email and password you created on the website, then click **Log in**. There is no licence key to type: signing in registers this computer as one of your plan's device seats and checks your plan. **Remember me** only pre-fills your email; Wassuply never stores your password. One of these screens may appear before the app opens: - **No active plan:** click **View plans & billing**, or type a code under **Have a gift or activation code?** and click **Redeem**. - **Device limit reached:** your plan's device seats are all in use. Sign out on the other computer or deauthorise it in your portal, then click **Retry**. - **Terms & Privacy Policy:** older accounts accept the terms once with **I agree, continue**. A plan bought or a code redeemed in the portal reaches the app within about a minute, and the app also refreshes your plan every 30 minutes. Details are in [Plans, licences and devices](https://wassuply.com/docs/plans-licences-devices/). ## How do you link your first WhatsApp number? You link a number by adding an account in Wassuply and scanning its QR code with WhatsApp on your phone. On first launch with no numbers, a **Welcome to Wassuply** card offers **Add my first number**, which takes you to the Accounts screen. **How to link a WhatsApp number** 1. **Open Add Account**: Click **Add Account** at the bottom of the sidebar, or go to **Accounts** and click **Add Account**. 2. **Name the number**: Enter a label such as Sales 1. Add the WhatsApp number with country code, digits only, no + or spaces. Warm-up needs it; if you skip it, Wassuply tries to read it from WhatsApp. 3. **Connect**: Click **Connect Account**. WhatsApp Web's QR code appears in the app. 4. **Scan from your phone**: On the phone, open WhatsApp → **Linked devices** → **Link a device** and scan the code. The number's status changes to connected. Each number gets its own browser session, its own browser fingerprint (on by default) and, if you add one, its own proxy. Repeat the steps for every number. Your plan sets how many numbers you can add; at the cap you see **Account limit reached**. More in [WhatsApp accounts](https://wassuply.com/docs/whatsapp-accounts/). ## How do you start your first warm-up? Start a warm-up as soon as your numbers are linked, and do not run a campaign from a new number until it has warmed for at least 15 days. Go to **Warmup → Warmup**, click **New Session**, and fill in the form. - **Select Accounts (min 2):** your numbers chat with each other, so a local session needs two or more connected numbers. **All Connected** selects every connected number. - **Message Pack:** pick one of 10 built-in chat packs, or switch to Custom and paste your own lines. - **Schedule:** 09:00 to 21:00, Monday to Friday by default. Tick **Include weekends (Sat & Sun)** or turn on **Run 24/7 until stopped** if you want more. - **Pacing:** 20 messages per number per day with random 30 to 120 second gaps, unless you change the defaults in Settings. Click **Create Session**, then **Start** on the session card. Only have one number? Join a Warm-up Pod in **Warmup → Warmup Network**, where your number chats with other Wassuply users' numbers. See [Account warm-up](https://wassuply.com/docs/warmup/) and [Warm-up Network](https://wassuply.com/docs/warmup-network/). > **Tip:** **Health & Risk** builds a plan for each number from its age and history and only marks it **Ready** after at least 15 warm-up days. 30 days is recommended for a brand-new number. See [Health and risk](https://wassuply.com/docs/health-and-risk/). ## What should you do while your numbers warm up? Use the warm-up weeks to prepare your first campaign. The **Today** screen tracks this with a **Get set up the safe way** checklist. - Import contacts from CSV: [Contacts, lists and segments](https://wassuply.com/docs/contacts-lists-segments/). - Write templates with merge fields and spintax: [Templates and spintax](https://wassuply.com/docs/templates-and-spintax/). - Check limits, gaps and blackout hours: [Sending safety](https://wassuply.com/docs/sending-safety/). - Back up linked numbers to the encrypted cloud vault from **My Account**. ## Frequently asked questions ### Is Wassuply free to download? Yes. The account and the download are free, and you can install and sign in without paying. Linking numbers, warming and sending need an active plan; see [pricing](https://wassuply.com/pricing/). ### Do I need a licence key? No. Wassuply signs in with your account email and password, and your plan comes with that login. Gift and activation codes are redeemed on the No active plan screen or in the portal's Billing tab. ### I signed up on the website. Do I create another account in the app? No. Click **Log in** in the app and use the same email and password. The app's own **Create account** link makes the same kind of account, so you only need one. ### Can I use Wassuply on both Windows and a Mac? Yes. It is the same app, account and plan on both. Each computer you sign in on uses one of your plan's device seats. ### Can I start with only one WhatsApp number? Yes, but a local warm-up session needs at least two of your own numbers. With one number, join a Warm-up Pod so it chats with other Wassuply users' numbers. ### How long until I can send my first campaign? At least 15 days of warm-up for a brand-new number, and 30 days is recommended. Health & Risk shows how many days are left and marks the number Ready. ### Why has step 4 of the portal's Get started list not ticked? The portal cannot see your computer's WhatsApp sessions, so step 4 ticks after you back up a linked number to the encrypted cloud vault from **My Account**. You can also close the list with **All set - go to my overview**. Wassuply is independent software. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.
