# How to send one WhatsApp message and use the Message Queue Source: https://wassuply.com/docs/send-message-and-queue/ Updated: 2026-10-30 · Wassuply 1.0.4 for Windows and macOS > Wassuply's Send Message tool sends a single WhatsApp message from one of your connected numbers to any number you type, with an optional image or video, without saving that number as a contact. The Message Queue is a live view of every running or paused campaign: its pending contacts, the numbers taking turns, and pause, resume and stop buttons. In the app: Sidebar → Tools → Send Message / Message Queue ## Key facts - Wassuply's Send Message tool needs a connected number, a recipient number of at least 7 digits including the country code, and some message text. - Send Message attachments in Wassuply can be JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, MP4, MOV or AVI files, sent with the message as the caption. - Send Message in Wassuply fills {name} with Test User, {custom1} with Sample1 and {custom2} with Sample2, and picks one option from any spintax. - Send Message does not save the recipient as a contact and does not check the opt-out list, the blacklist or daily limits. - The Wassuply Message Queue lists running and paused campaigns only, refreshes every 3 seconds and shows the next 8 pending contacts of each one. - The Message Queue has no per-message cancel or retry: retries are on the campaign's own page, and opt-outs and blacklist entries are re-checked right before every campaign send. ## What is the Send Message tool? Send Message sends one WhatsApp message, right away, from a number you pick to a number you type, outside any campaign. Use it to test a newly linked number, answer someone quickly or contact a single person without building a list. It has no waits, batches or schedule, and nothing is added to Contacts or to a campaign. For more than a handful of people, use a [broadcast campaign](https://wassuply.com/docs/broadcast-campaigns/), which paces every message and respects daily limits. ## How do I send a single WhatsApp message? Open **Tools → Send Message**, pick a number, type the recipient and the message, then click **Send Message**. **How to send one WhatsApp message with Wassuply** 1. **Open the tool**: In the sidebar, go to **Tools → Send Message**. 2. **Choose the sending number**: Under **Send from account**, click a number. Only connected numbers can be chosen, and the first connected one is selected for you. 3. **Enter the recipient**: Type the full number with the country code in **Recipient phone number**, for example 447712345678. Spaces and the + sign are removed. 4. **Write the message**: Type in **Message**. The counter shows characters out of 4,096 and turns red above 4,000. 5. **Add a file if needed**: Click **Attach image / video (optional)** and pick a JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, MP4, MOV or AVI file. The message becomes its caption. 6. **Send**: Click **Send Message**, or press Enter in the phone box. The button changes to **Sent!** or **Failed - try again** with the error underneath. Below the button, **Will send via** names the number in use. Each send is added to **Recent sends this session**, which keeps the last 20 while you stay on the screen and is not saved. ## How does Send Message handle numbers, files and variables? Send Message uses the same sending steps as a campaign, without the pacing and list checks. - **Numbers you never chatted with**: The number does not need to be saved on either side. Wassuply finds the chat in your chat list or opens it through WhatsApp's New chat panel, and for a text message can fall back to WhatsApp's own click-to-chat link. - **Message box check**: The open chat is checked against the number, and the message box must hold exactly your message before Send is pressed. Otherwise nothing is sent and you see the error. - **Variables and spintax**: `{name}` becomes Test User, `{phone}` the recipient's number, `{custom1}` Sample1 and `{custom2}` Sample2. Spintax such as `{Hi|Hello}` sends one option, picked at random. See [templates and spintax](https://wassuply.com/docs/templates-and-spintax/). - **Attachments**: Images and videos only. Text is still required, and it is sent as the caption. To send a PDF or Word file, use a campaign attachment. - **Busy numbers**: A number that is running a campaign, a warm-up, a group job or another short task is refused with a message saying what it is busy with. - **What it does not check**: The opt-out list, the blacklist and daily limits. Check the number yourself before sending; see [opt-outs and blacklist](https://wassuply.com/docs/opt-outs-and-blacklist/). > **Tip:** Your plan must be active on this computer to send; see [plans, licences and devices](https://wassuply.com/docs/plans-licences-devices/). ## What does the Message Queue show? The Message Queue (**Tools → Message Queue**) shows one card for every cold or broadcast campaign that is running or paused, and refreshes every 3 seconds; **Refresh** reloads it at once. With nothing running or paused, it reads **Queue is Empty**. | On each card | What it shows | | --- | --- | | Name and badge | Campaign name, **RUNNING** or **PAUSED**, and the campaign type. | | Progress | Percent complete and sent out of total contacts. The bar turns amber above a 10% failure rate and red above 20%. | | Sent, Failed, Pending, Fail Rate | Counts so far. Fail Rate is failed divided by sent plus failed. | | Rotating | The numbers the campaign takes turns with, green when connected. | | Show next N in queue | Up to the next 8 pending contacts (phone and name) in send order, plus how many more are pending. | The queue covers campaigns only. Sequence and drip steps are listed on each sequence's own page ([Sequences and Drip](https://wassuply.com/docs/sequences-and-drip/)), and Send Message sends never appear here. For exact waits and send times, open the campaign's **Send schedule**. ## How do I pause, resume, stop or retry from the queue? Each card has **Pause** or **Resume**, a stop button and a button that opens the campaign's page. - **Pause** holds the campaign, even partway through a wait. **Resume** needs at least one connected number, and none of the campaign's numbers busy with another campaign, a warm-up or a group job. - Stop ends the campaign immediately, without a confirmation. Its unsent contacts stay unsent and can only go out through **Re-run N unsent** on the campaign page. - Retry for failed contacts, Resend for sent ones and **Retry N failed** are on the campaign page; see [broadcast campaigns](https://wassuply.com/docs/broadcast-campaigns/). - There is no per-message cancel. To keep one person from being messaged, add the number to your opt-out list or blacklist: Wassuply checks both again right before every campaign send and skips the contact. ## What statuses can a queued contact have? Every contact in a campaign is pending, sending, sent, failed or skipped; the campaign page filters them by All, Sent, Failed and Pending. | Status | Meaning | | --- | --- | | Pending | Waiting its turn. These are the contacts shown in the queue. | | Sending | Being sent right now. If Wassuply closes at this moment, the contact is marked failed rather than sent twice. | | Sent | The message box held exactly the message and Send was pressed. This is not a delivery receipt. | | Failed | The send did not happen, with the reason shown. It can be retried. | | Skipped | Not sent on purpose: opted out or blacklisted, not on WhatsApp (when validation is on), or messaged by another campaign within the cross-campaign cooldown. | Delivered and read ticks are counted separately, when you press **Check Receipts** on the campaign page. If many contacts fail, see [troubleshooting](https://wassuply.com/docs/troubleshooting/). ## Frequently asked questions ### Can I send a WhatsApp message without saving the number? Yes. Type the full number with the country code in Send Message and click **Send Message**; Wassuply does not add it to Contacts or to your phone's address book. ### Can I send a PDF or document with Send Message? No. Its file picker accepts images and videos only. A campaign attachment accepts PDF, DOC and DOCX. ### Does Send Message respect my daily limit and opt-out list? No. It sends straight away without checking daily limits, opt-outs or the blacklist, so keep it for single messages and use a campaign for lists. ### Can I send to several numbers at once with Send Message? No, one recipient per send. For a list, create a [broadcast campaign](https://wassuply.com/docs/broadcast-campaigns/), which paces the messages. ### Why does Send Message say the account is busy? That number is running a campaign, a warm-up, a group job or another short task, and one number only does one thing at a time. Pick another number or wait until it finishes. ### Why is the Message Queue empty while a sequence is sending? The queue only lists running and paused campaigns. Sequence steps are shown on each sequence's page. ### Can I cancel a single message in the queue? No. Add the number to your opt-out list or blacklist and Wassuply skips that contact when its turn comes. A started campaign's contact list cannot be edited. Wassuply is independent software. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.
