# How to set daily caps, gaps, batches and blackout hours Source: https://wassuply.com/docs/sending-safety/ Updated: 2026-10-30 · Wassuply 1.0.4 for Windows and macOS > Wassuply paces sending with a daily cap per number, a random gap before every message and a longer break after each batch. By default a number stops at 80 messages a day, waits 30 to 90 seconds between messages and takes a 1 to 5 minute break after every 10. Blackout Hours, sending windows, preflight checks and the Sending Calculator help you plan safer volumes. In the app: Settings → Sending → Global Daily Send Limit ## Key facts - Wassuply's Global Daily Send Limit defaults to 80 messages per number per day and applies to every number without its own Daily Message Limit. - New Wassuply campaigns default to a random 30 to 90 second gap between messages, batches of 10 messages and a 60 to 300 second break between batches. - Each number's daily message count in Wassuply is shared by campaigns, sequences and warm-up, and resets at local midnight. - When every number in a Wassuply campaign has reached its daily cap, the campaign holds and carries on by itself after midnight. - Wassuply's Blackout Hours grid blocks sending by hour and day of the week for campaigns, Group Builder and the Warm-up Network, using your computer's local time. - The Wassuply Sending Calculator's safe figure is 30 messages a day for numbers under 3 months, 50 for 3 to 12 months and 150 for 12 months or more. ## How does Wassuply pace sending? Wassuply paces sending in layers: a daily cap stops each number for the day, a random gap comes before every message, a longer break follows every batch, and optional sending windows and Blackout Hours block whole hours. Each number is driven by only one job at a time, and [Smart Send Protection](https://wassuply.com/docs/health-and-risk/) can slow or pause risky numbers if you switch it on. | Setting | Where | Default | Range | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Global Daily Send Limit | Settings → Sending | 80 messages a day | 1 to 1,000 | | Daily Message Limit (per number) | Account Settings → General | 0, meaning use the global limit | 0 or more | | Message Delay Min / Max | Campaign wizard (defaults in Settings → Campaign Defaults) | 30 / 90 seconds | 5 to 300 / up to 600 seconds | | Batch Size | Campaign wizard | 10 messages | 1 to 50 | | Batch Delay Min / Max | Campaign wizard (Pause Min / Max in Settings) | 60 / 300 seconds | 10 to 600 / up to 3,600 seconds | | Sending Window | Campaign wizard | Off; 9:00 to 21:00, Monday to Friday when switched on | Hours 0 to 23 | | Blackout Hours | Tools → Blackout Hours | Nothing blocked | Any hour of the week | | Cross-campaign cooldown | Settings → Sending | 0 (off) | 0 to 720 hours | | Failure-rate auto-pause | Settings → Campaign Defaults, or the wizard's Delivery Rate Alert | Off; 20% when you switch on the alert | 5 to 80% in the wizard | | Smart Send Protection | Settings → Campaign Defaults | Off (slow at 60, pause at 80 when on) | 0 to 100 | ## How are daily caps worked out, and where do you set them? A number's daily cap is its own **Daily Message Limit** if that is above 0; otherwise it is the **Global Daily Send Limit**, which is 80 by default. - **For one number:** open **Account Settings** for the account (right-click it in the sidebar), go to **General**, set **Daily Message Limit** and click **Save Changes**. - **For all numbers:** open **Settings → Sending** and set **Global Daily Send Limit** under **Session limits**. Campaigns, sequence follow-ups, local warm-up and the Warm-up Network all add to the same count of messages sent today, shown next to each number in the sidebar. The count resets at local midnight, or on the next launch if the app was closed over midnight. When a number reaches its cap, a campaign moves on to its other numbers; if every number is capped, the campaign holds and resumes by itself after midnight. Sequence steps wait and check again every hour. Warm-up stops for the day at the lower of the session's daily number and the number's cap. > **Caution:** A Daily Message Limit of 0 does not mean unlimited. It means the number uses the Global Daily Send Limit. > **Tip:** The safe daily limit on [Health & Risk](https://wassuply.com/docs/health-and-risk/) is advice, not a cap. To have Wassuply stop a number at that figure, type it into the number's Daily Message Limit. ## How do random gaps and batch breaks work? Before each message, Wassuply waits a random whole number of seconds between **Message Delay Min** and **Message Delay Max**; after every **Batch Size** messages, the next wait is a longer random break between **Batch Delay Min** and **Batch Delay Max** instead. The waits are drawn when you create or edit the campaign and stored for each contact, so the campaign page shows the whole schedule and you can change or skip a wait (see [Broadcast campaigns](https://wassuply.com/docs/broadcast-campaigns/)). The first message goes out within a few seconds, unless that number sent something moments earlier, in which case a normal gap passes first. Each gap is counted from the last message the number sent in any campaign, so pausing and resuming cannot shorten it. A campaign sends one message at a time and takes its numbers in turn. More numbers spread the load and raise how much you can send per day, but the gaps still apply between every message. With the defaults, 10 messages take about 12 minutes on average: nine gaps of about 60 seconds plus one break of about 3 minutes. ## How do Blackout Hours work? Blackout Hours is a weekly grid, Monday to Sunday by 24 hours, where you paint the hours in which nothing should be sent. Open it from **Tools → Blackout Hours**, then click or drag across cells; blocked hours turn red. - **Night hours:** blocks 10 PM to 7 AM every day. - **Weekends off:** blocks all of Saturday and Sunday. - **Off hours:** blocks before 9 AM and from 9 PM, plus weekends. - **Clear:** removes every block. Changes save automatically. The side panel shows a **Schedule Summary** you can copy, and **Blocked per week**, **Active per week** and **Availability**. During a blocked hour, campaigns hold and log "Blackout hour", Group Builder waits, and the Warm-up Network holds back its turns until a free hour. Times follow your computer's clock. Blackout Hours does not pause local warm-up sessions, which have their own active hours, or sequence follow-ups. ## What checks and cooldowns protect a campaign? When you launch a campaign, Wassuply runs a preflight check of the contact list, and before every message it checks the contact again. - **Preflight:** at launch, Wassuply counts duplicates, invalid numbers (fewer than 10 or more than 15 digits), opted-out contacts and blacklisted numbers. If any will be skipped, a Preflight message shows how many are ready. - **Opt-out re-check:** each contact is checked against opt-outs and the blacklist just before sending, so a STOP reply that arrives mid-campaign is honoured. See [Opt-outs and blacklist](https://wassuply.com/docs/opt-outs-and-blacklist/). - **Cross-campaign cooldown:** in **Settings → Sending**, skip anyone a different campaign messaged within this many hours. It is 0 (off) by default. - **Sending Window:** in the wizard's **Sending Configuration** step, limit sending to certain hours and **Active days**. At least one day must stay selected. - **Validate WA Numbers Before Sending:** optional; skips numbers that are not on WhatsApp, checking with random 0.8 to 3.5 second pauses. - **Delivery Rate Alert:** pauses the campaign when this share of its sends fail, after at least 5 attempts. - **One job per number:** a number already busy with a campaign, warm-up or Group Builder job is greyed out in the wizard. ## How do you use the Sending Calculator? The Sending Calculator, under **Tools**, plans a campaign before you build it: how many days it will take, the volume per day and hour, a 0 to 100 safety score and suggestions. It does not change any settings. - **Accounts**: **My Accounts** uses the numbers you tick, or all connected numbers if you tick none. **Manual** lets you plan with a number of accounts you do not have yet. - **Daily Limit per Account**: Presets **Safe** (20), **Balanced** (50), **Fast** (100) and **Aggressive** (200), or **Custom limit** from 1 to 500. - **Total Contacts to Reach**: Your list size, with shortcuts from 500 to 50,000. - **Account Age / Warmup Status**: **New** (under 3 months, max 30 a day), **Warming** (3 to 12 months, max 50) or **Established** (12+ months, max 150). - **Sending Window (hours/day)**: From 4 to 24 hours. Results show **Days to Complete**, **Messages / Day**, **Messages / Hour**, **Accounts Used**, a timeline and **Strategic Suggestions**. The score is Excellent from 82, Good from 62, Caution from 40 and Danger below that. It drops for a limit above the age maximum, finishing in under a week, using only one or two numbers, very high daily totals and a window under 8 hours. The **Reverse Calculator** shows how many numbers you need to finish a list in a set number of days. ## What is a safe sending volume? No volume is risk-free, but Wassuply's figures give a cautious starting point: warm each number first, keep it at or under its safe daily limit, and spread big lists over days and several numbers. - Warm a new number for at least 15 days before its first campaign, ideally 30. See [Account warm-up](https://wassuply.com/docs/warmup/). - Keep each number within its safe daily limit: 30 a day under 3 months, rising to 250 for numbers 3 years or older, and lower after a ban. - Make the first campaign half the safe limit, at most 100 contacts. - Keep the minimum gap at 15 seconds or more and batch breaks at 60 seconds or more, as the wizard's Safety Recommendations advise, with 50 to 80 new contacts per number per day. - Spread large lists over 7 to 14 days or more, across several numbers, and block night hours with Blackout Hours. For limits by number age, see [WhatsApp sending limits](https://wassuply.com/glossary/whatsapp-sending-limits/). ## Frequently asked questions ### Does a Daily Message Limit of 0 make a number unlimited? No. A per-number limit of 0 means the number follows the Global Daily Send Limit in Settings → Sending, which is 80 by default. ### Do more numbers make a campaign send faster? Not per message. A campaign sends one message at a time with a gap before each, and more numbers raise your daily capacity and spread the load. ### Does warm-up count towards a number's daily cap? Yes. Local warm-up and Warm-up Network messages add to the same daily count as campaigns and sequences. ### What time zone do Blackout Hours and sending windows use? Your computer's local time. If your contacts are in another time zone, shift the blocked hours to match. ### Can I change the gaps while a campaign is running? Yes. Editing a running campaign's timings re-plans its remaining waits, and the next message follows the new values. ### Why is my campaign holding? Every number can't send right now: they have reached their daily cap, are disconnected, or it is outside the sending window or in a blackout hour. The campaign log says which. ### Is 100 messages a day safe for one number? It depends on the number's age and history. Health & Risk allows 150 a day for a 1 to 3 year old number with a clean history, but only 30 for a number under 3 months old. Wassuply is independent software.
