Keyboard shortcuts and the command palette

Updated Wassuply 1.0.4 for Windows and macOS 6 min read

Quick answer

Wassuply's main shortcut is the command palette: press Ctrl+K on Windows or Cmd+K on a Mac to search pages, WhatsApp accounts and campaigns, then press Enter to open one. On a Mac the menu bar adds more, such as Cmd+, for Settings and Cmd+1 to Cmd+7 for the main screens. Escape closes the top-most dialog.

Key facts

  • Press Ctrl+K on Windows or Cmd+K on a Mac to open Wassuply's command palette, which searches pages, WhatsApp accounts and campaigns.
  • Wassuply's command palette shows at most 15 results at a time, so type a few letters to narrow it down.
  • On a Mac, Cmd+1 to Cmd+7 open Today, Dashboard, Accounts, WhatsApp, Broadcasts, Cold Campaigns and Warmup.
  • Escape in Wassuply closes only the top-most overlay, so a confirmation opened over a form closes without closing the form.
  • On a Mac, Cmd+W hides Wassuply's window while campaigns keep running, and Cmd+Q quits the app.

What keyboard shortcuts does Wassuply have?#

Wassuply has one shortcut on both systems, the command palette, plus the usual keys for forms and dialogs. On a Mac, the menu bar adds shortcuts for Settings, new messages and the main screens. Wassuply uses Ctrl on Windows and Cmd on a Mac, and the app shows the right one for your computer.

Normal text editing keys such as copy, paste and undo work in every text field. Wassuply has no setting to change or add shortcuts.

How do you use the command palette?#

The command palette is a search box that jumps straight to a page, a WhatsApp number or a campaign. The sidebar reminds you of it with a Quick search hint, and the Dashboard shows it too.

  1. Open it

Press Ctrl+K on Windows or Cmd+K on a Mac. The box Search pages, accounts, campaigns... appears.

  2. Type a few letters

Pages match by name or group, numbers by name or phone, campaigns by name.

  3. Pick a result

Use the Up and Down arrows, or hover with the mouse. Each result is tagged page, account or campaign.

  4. Open it

Press Enter or click. A page opens, a number opens in its WhatsApp view, and a campaign opens its detail page.

Press Escape, press Ctrl+K or Cmd+K again, or click outside the box to close it. The palette shows up to 15 results; with an empty box you only see the first 15 pages, so type to find the rest. While the palette is open, the WhatsApp view is hidden behind it.

Which pages can the command palette open?#

The palette lists 39 pages in eight groups. Typing a group name, such as tools or leads, lists every page in that group.

GroupPages
OverviewDashboard, App Guide
ManageAccounts, Account Stats, Groups, Proxies
MessagingCampaigns, Broadcasts, Outreach, Sequences, Sequence Builder, Templates, Contacts, Lists
OutreachOutreach Pipeline, Outreach Prospects, Outreach Blacklist, Outreach Scripts
ToolsWarmup, Warmup Progress, Analytics, Account Health, Message Queue, Send Message, WA Link Generator, Blackout Hours, Sending Calculator, Group Builder, Group Extractor
LeadsLead Finder, Phone Verifier, List Cleaner, List Deduplicator, Contact Export
SupportActivity Logs, WA Ban Appeal, Support
SettingsSettings, My Account

Tip: A few palette names differ from the sidebar: Account Health is Health & Risk, WA Ban Appeal is Ban Recovery, WA Link Generator is WA Link, and Phone Verifier is Phone Verify. Lead Finder, Phone Verifier and List Cleaner are coming soon.

Some pages are not in the palette: Today, Warmup Network, My Pod, AI Consultant, Voice Library, Group Manager and the Broadcasts sub-pages. Reach those from the sidebar, or type in the sidebar's Search menu... box, which searches every menu item.

What shortcuts does the Mac menu bar add?#

On a Mac, Wassuply has a full menu bar, and its shortcuts work even while a WhatsApp view has the keyboard. Windows has no menu bar, so these keys do not apply there.

The Go menu also has Contacts and Activity Logs, and Help links the Wassuply Guide, Support, the Customer Portal and wassuply.com. If Warn before closing is on in Settings, Cmd+Q asks first while a campaign or warm-up is running.

Which keys work in forms, lists and dialogs?#

Most single-line fields submit with Enter, and most overlays close with Escape. Specific cases:

  • Enter submits: the sign-in fields, Add Account, gift and activation codes, Your Name in Settings, opt-out keywords and many other one-line inputs.
  • Renaming a campaign in a list: Enter saves the new name, Escape restores the old one.
  • Editing a planned wait in a campaign's send plan: Enter saves, Escape cancels.
  • Dropdowns: Up and Down move, Enter picks, Escape closes just the dropdown.
  • Confirmation dialogs: the confirm button has focus when the dialog opens, so Enter confirms. Press Escape to cancel.

Caution: Because Enter confirms a dialog, read it before pressing Enter on actions such as Remove Account, which deletes that number's session from your computer.

Do shortcuts work inside the WhatsApp view?#

Not Wassuply's own shortcuts. When you click into a number's WhatsApp Web view, your keystrokes go to WhatsApp Web, so Ctrl+K or Cmd+K reaches WhatsApp instead of opening the palette. Click anywhere in Wassuply's sidebar first, then press the shortcut.

Mac menu bar shortcuts, such as Cmd+1 or Cmd+,, still work from inside the WhatsApp view. See WhatsApp accounts for the view itself and Today, Dashboard and stats for the screens these shortcuts open.

Frequently asked questions#

How do I open the command palette?

Press Ctrl+K on Windows or Cmd+K on a Mac from any of Wassuply's own screens. Press it again, or Escape, to close it.

Why does Ctrl+K do nothing?

The WhatsApp view probably has the keyboard. Click the sidebar or another part of Wassuply, then press Ctrl+K again. For other problems, see Troubleshooting.

Can I change or add keyboard shortcuts?

No. Wassuply has no shortcut settings in 1.0.4.

Is there a shortcut for the Today screen on Windows?

No. Today is not in the command palette and Windows has no menu bar, so open it from the sidebar. On a Mac, press Cmd+1.

Can the command palette find a contact?

No. It searches pages, your WhatsApp numbers and campaigns. Search contacts on the Contacts page instead.

Does closing the window on a Mac stop my campaigns?

No. Cmd+W or the red button only hides the window, and campaigns and warm-up keep running. Use Cmd+Q to quit.
